Conversations are amazing in that they can not only bring out the best in ideas of each other, but a deeper question is where do these ideas come from when there are conversations among people. Where do we get our ideas, anyway? You've surely heard the comment, when asked, "Where did that come from?" to which the reply came, "It just popped into my mind during our conversation." Aside from new ideas, a good conversation can bring out the best in each other, bringing clarity or a thought worth repeating. And here, there was not enough room to bring you the conversations I wanted, so here is an extra chapter on more deep dives into topics that may be of great value to you.
Beyond the foundations of breathing, hydration, sleep, mind and spirit, nutrition and exercise, there are some other avenues to fine tune our health. Let's call it Icing on the Cake, other things you can consider adding into the mix of healing if needing recovery and on to optimum vitality. To start out, there has been a lot of conversation around cold water immersion. The man who has single handedly brought this to the attention of people globally is Wim Hof.
Here is Wim Hof, himself, in a conversation with Rich Roll, going through Wim's story, covering the art of his breathing techniques, as well as his other amazing accomplishments, particularly cold-water immersion. With this, you will have a better understanding of what Wim Hof is all about, and he will definitely expand your awareness of what our human bodies are capable of. This conversation actually goes way beyond just breathing, and there are many empowering words of wisdom to take in from this self-described crazy man.
On the other side of cold immersion is sauna. For a look into the health benefits, here is a conversation between podcast host Lex Fridman and Andrew Huberman, Ph.D.. Andrew is a neuroscientist and tenured professor in the department of neurobiology, and by courtesy, psychiatry, and behavioral sciences at Stanford School of Medicine. He has made numerous significant contributions to the fields of brain development, brain function and neural plasticity, which is the ability of our nervous system to rewire and learn new behaviors, skills, and cognitive functioning.

Rich Roll brings us a conversation with the pioneer of integrative medicine Dr. Andrew Weil for a conversation on holistic health, natural healing, and medical reform. Dr. Weil has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine, he is also a New York Times bestselling author of 15 books, the founder and director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, and a man who has spent over 50 years studying and evangelizing holistic wellness, under-appreciated healing modalities, medicinal plants, and the reform of medical education. This conversation is a real treat and full of information you will appreciate hearing if perhaps for the first time.
Today, we live in a sea of information coming at us for a course of direction in the face of all kinds of health concerns that can come knocking on our door. As I learned early in my life, what you hear by someone may or may not be correct, and to question everything. That has served me well, and what you will see below are examples of what I have learned to be quite valid for optimum wellness, especially in guarding the gate with diet and supplementation that help us rather than pull us down a possibly dark and often costly path. If this information you take in below is new to you, much of it will likely shock you as contrary to what certain money interests in the pharmaceutical industry would like you to believe. I give this to you as a source of information, and there is more behind the curtain of what you hear from a number of sources, but this is a good start on perhaps a new perspective for an ability for you to take back control of your own health going forward.
Heart health, a big and important topic, and plenty of information out there if you can find it. Here for you, is what I view as state of the art research that is an education on what is really going on with heart health issues today. Dr. Mathias Rath, world renowned expert on heart health, gives us an education for better protecting the condition of our heart. This is a speaking engagement 8 years ago, and yet not put out in our mainstream medical and drug community for reasons that Dr. Rath will share.
Dr. Joel Wallach first published Dead Doctors Don't Lie in 1994. This is quite a few years ago, but this message in tape form propelled the fastest growth in networking history at the time for a company New Vision, and in particular, their flagship product, Ionic Essential Minerals, still sold today under a different label, called Ionic. It is quite entertaining, and the accuracy and insight of this message is as true today. Dr. Wallach pulls back the curtain on important information for optimum health through adequate supplementation.
Dr. Andrew Weil, Harvard educated, and experienced in a number of cultural and medicinal methods of wellness practice that evolved into what he developed as Integrative Medicine: a higher-order system of systems of care that emphasizes wellness and healing of the entire person (bio-psycho-socio-spiritual dimensions) as primary goals, drawing on both conventional and CAM [complementary and alternative medicine] approaches in the context of a supportive and effective physician-patient relationship. Enjoy this talk that contains a number of great takeaways for optimum wellness, that is often a divergence of what you may hear in mainstream media and advertising by the influence of pharmaceuticals.
